A stunning MTB destination in the beautiful village in County Down, Northern Ireland. The centre has the perfect mix of manicured trail centre trails, along with steep technical natural off piste trails in the forest. Miss it at your peril, we will be back...soon :-)

CANYON Strive ON - New Bike Day !!!
Переглядів 1,3 тис.Місяць тому
First ride on the remarkable CANYON Strive ON... Virtually straight out of the box (apart from tubeless conversion and Invisi-frame) and with very little input apart from basic suspension pressures (to be tweaked in due course) Feels like a significant step up from my Whyte E180s despite being 170-160 rather than 180-180, the 29 front wheel definitely gives confidence in the rocky sections! Is it the underdog you’ve got? I’m looking at getting one.
@@johnbellis1179 yes, do it, it’s amazing 🤘🏼 it’s a great blank canvas to raise the spec on over time 😎
Beautiful trail despite so many gates.
if you start scream its sound like knott's ghostrider
Nice vid bud. those trails look built for this bike. Where is this area?
doesn't look like a big upgrade over your old one on paper, especially not the underdog version what made you do the switch? nice terrains, definitely enduro-bumpy what country is that? scotland? (didn't really watch it through, just some parts)
The CFR wasn't the spec i wanted, so went for the underdog as a blank canvas for a 1 of 1 build 😎 Hope brakes with vented discs (as per my Intense Tracer Pro) incoming, along with Fortus Rims with Pro 5 hubs. Full Ohlins suspension, forks and coil, along with AXS gearing and reverb AXS dropper. Mullet and 750 battery hit the sweetspot and if you read any of the reviews of this bike its getting 10/10. Whyte was excellent but i've had it 2.5 years so its time for a change, hope that answers your question? Terrain is the Peak District which is 5 mins from home, happy days....
@@jesmtb I just got back into MTBiking after 10 years so not that knowledgable ;o] but plan to get some trial or enduro next year, after I get some more practice on my old full-suspension XC
What a great video ! Thank you ! The audio, the environment, the landscape, the skill of the pilot, the machine, everything is perfect !
Nice! Get mine in a few days. What size tubeless stems did you use?
Rims were tubeless ready, Peaty's tubeless valves and sealant 🙂
where about is it located
To the right of The Beast as you are heading up 👍 are you local?
A lot tougher than it looks that bottom section of the Gift
Mate it was a nightmare yesterday in the wet! Always find it tougher on an ebike, especially in the wet, for once, the extra weight doesn't help you 😐 It wasn't my finest hour 😆
👏
Can you share the route for this please??
Sadly I don’t Strava my rides ☹️ are you local or travelling over 🤔
@@jesmtb From 'Fax so would be a day out job - the long run along the hillside I'm not sure of and the very start through that gate?
hey great vid. How heavy is your bike? I have a 23kg emtb and want to take it to the trails but im worried about it being too heavy. Does it make that much of a difference?
No mate, all our e-bikes are about the same weight as yours, it makes them extra planted on the downhills 👊🏼 the only disadvantage is when you have to lift them over a gate 🏋🏻♀️ enjoy 🤘🏼
Great video mate 👌, such a great loop with some epic descents 👍
Cheers for the heads up matey 👍
Great video buddy, I was up around that area yesterday too 👍🏼
It was such a great evening wasn't it, first dry one for ages 👍 out again tomorrow, but forecast doesn't look good ☔🤦♂
@@jesmtb Yeah it was a cracking day for it, the forecast never knows what it’s doing 😂
@@IanCran76 watched your video, liked and subscibed 👍 you must have finished before we set off as we parked outside the Ladybower Inn, but weren't there in your video when you came past 😎
@@jesmtb Thanks pal!… I got up to the Peak around 1:30, I park over in Hope on Pindale Road
Er lag die week fantastische diepsneeuw en dan laat je alleen de piste zie. Saai
Het was fantastisch, en het weer was ook geweldig, blauwe lucht! Ik hoop dat je ook van het skiën hebt kunnen genieten 😀
Bicicletta a buona.
oh man, you peaple are a danger to others. Take a course. BTW: not funny
Chaps should taek lessons it would make a big difference
Nice
Arghh nooo you missed out the best bit entirely lol. What you used as a descent, we use as a climb. When you are at the top of alport castles cliff, just before there is a turning that takes you down into alport dale. It’s one of the best descents in the area. It’s at 5:45 ua-cam.com/video/ra9d1ocffl0/v-deo.htmlsi=1lMq_Ow3KNzwHh21
Can you give me a go pro please 🙏
muito bom era so descida kkkkkkkkklkkk tichau
I have recently got suggestions watching for the mountain of hell. I saw that in 2023 there was no snow, but in this run there was so much of snow
Yeah, I’ve done it 6 times and 2022 was very disappointing for snow, so the start line was at 3200m at the bottom of the glacier, rather than 3600m at the top ☹️ 2017 was a great race but a bit difficult for visibility at the top, if you watch my 2016 or 2018 videos you get the full sunshine effect, enjoy 😎
@@jesmtb ok got it. thanks for replying
Making the best of a rainy day!
Gääääääähn
My nan rides faster than this
This is fun,
That was some down hill!!! Cheers 🍻
Good footage. It's strange, I remember a trickier steep rocky chute on stage 3 that I remember I really didn't want to come off on, but it's barely discernable on camera. Presume it's around the 11minute mark.
GoPros have a habit of flattening stuff out as you know! There was a chute abouut 11.30 but nothing severe on Stage 3, much more flowey than stages 1 & 2! Glad you enjoyed the video 👍
Shame to end it early but enjoyed it all the same 👍🏻
Great to have you along fella, we’ll look forward to the next one 🤘🏼
New cranks have already been ordered! Till next time 🤙🏻
VC. foi a passear. Que Deus abençoe 🙏
Tá, mas que lugar lindo pra passear, rs 😆
Jacob’s ladder😳
I've done the same route! Years ago....totally forgot until I saw this video. I remember the bike feeling like it was going to fly apart on the section at 10:30 :D
That looks great. Care to share the route? Thanks
Biking is the funnest specialy beers an buckwheat honey .. energy up hill all day, a surplus o energy
That's some lovely landscape, how long do you think a beginner needs to be able to do a trail like this ? Thanks mate.
No time at all fella, the majority of most trails are rideable, but its always worth stopping and checking difficult 'features' before you ride them, to help you pick the best line! Enjoy 😎
Lots of illegal trails there
Hello Surf Dude! It was good meeting you yesterday. Love your channel esp the tree hugging 😊
good to meet you too, we have to hug the trees to stop them falling over in the mud 😆
Great job.
Why would people do anything like that? Why are they not trying to hike that mountain on a swimming mattress, for example?
😆
Would it be faster leaving the bike and just walking?
Where’s the fun in that 🤟🏼😎
Dream trails, too much uphill in the circuit. Where is it Les Deux Alpes?
Heaven
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🙏🙏🙏💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪
is there less snow because they did it earlier this year
Sadly, it’s because it’s getting warmer so the glacier is receding 😬 it was particularly mild this year, hopefully slightly less so next year 🤞🏼 it’s the first time in the 6 years that I have done the event that it wasn’t started on the glacier at 3600m ☹️
@@jesmtb 😓I was hopping it wasn't because of climate change
@@TheMajorQC there are cold years and milder years quite randomly, but the definite overall trend in resort is that it’s getting warmer in winter and summer seasons ☹️
Hello, Super performance. going uphill is hard... I have a question about the races. have you driven the route before? or do you drive blind? I wish you continued success. maybe we'll see each other in 2023 :)
Hi, we have done the race 6 times and the routes change slightly each year, but the bulk is the same. They don't disclose the route until race day, but the signage goes up a couple of days before and you can ride most sections apart from the glacier. There is also a qualifier the day before which is a different route (half the length) and again you can ride sections of it on the days before. All my races for qualif and finale (from 2015-2022) are on my channel, so enjoy and see you there next year!
@@jesmtb I'm curious. I had already watched your other videos 😅 great. Thank you for your answer. 👍🏻
@@DanielHermann0815 my pleasure, thanks for watching 😎
This is fiasco, bro
It seems that there were many who should not have been on that mountain - What are they doing.....jesus!!!
It's an amateur event open to all, which allows many weekend warriers, myself included to compete in events they could only dream of, and thats the beauty of it, amateurs and pro's together 🤗 i've done 8 of these european events in 10 years and their availability and inclusivity is to be applauded 👏 in my opinion...
@@jesmtb of course, my fault 🙂
@@fortza11 not at all matey, we’re only commenting on videos we’re watching, healthy discussion is half the fun 🤗 have a great day 😎
UA-cam needs more content like this and you seriously deserve more views! There are too many mtb channels on here that concentrate too much on vlogging with obnoxious commentary on everything, trying to be cool/ funny and pushing themselves so hard to be fast and competitive with everything. This blows all of those out of the water, just, relaxed, riding through beautiful countryside because it's fun and it's what you love.. raw and practically unedited!
Wow I wish it was me going down that mountain l. ❤️
